Many Polish consumers have organised a petition demanding Christmas loo-roll be banned. The festive toilet paper on sale in Lublin by pharmacy chain Rossman has been branded "repulsive and base" and they think it’s better off the market! Who buys that stuff anywise?

Christmas loo-roll features pictures of reindeer, Santa and shooting stars and little messages in English saying "Merry Christmas".

A spokesman for the Lublin youth chaplaincy that is organising the petition said: "This could only have been dreamt up by someone exceptionally thoughtless."

The chaplaincy has already written to the management of the company demanding that they take it off the market.

"You use Christmas cards for sending greetings and you use toilet-roll for your backside," said Lublin shopper Mieczyslaw Kasper, 51, after signing the petition.

A spokesman for the Polish branch of the company that sells the toilet roll admitted he had heard about protests in Lublin. He said: "We had no influence over what was printed on it by the international managers of our company. We only sell it."

Should it be banned?
