Californians rush into marriage

Richard Marx Right Here Waiting

Of all the love song Richard Marx's songs is the influence of many love stories for couples in love and song writers in the late 80s and the 90s and still is brilliant as being a continued persuasion on many lovers.

Marx made the top of the charts on radio in 1987, starting with his first single, ‘’Don't Mean Nothing’’. Six consecutive follow-up songs hit the Top 5, three of them, including Right Here Waiting, went to No. 1.

Richard Marx made it into the music business singing backup vocals for Lionel Richie and writing songs with Kenny Rogers and ‘Chicago’ for he kept to the simple middle-of-the-road approach of those acts once he became a recording artist in his own right.

Carefully, I chose this old song for all the married couple in my Video as a token to married life and all the trimming that comes with it and so apropos these days in the USA as things have changes - as couples rushed to county clerks' offices to obtain marriage licenses and exchange vows on the first full day that same-sex marriage became legal in the state of California.

Gays in California rush to marriage

June 18, 2008

SAN FRANCISCO—Serenaded by a gay men's chorus, showered with rose petals and toasted with champagne, hundreds of same-sex couples got married across California on Tuesday.

Couples rushed to county clerks' offices to obtain marriage licenses and exchange vows on the first full day that same-sex marriage became legal in the state.

Among them was actor George Takei, who played Sulu on the original "Star Trek." He and his partner of 21 years, Brad Altman, obtained one of the new gender-neutral marriage licenses, with the words "Party A" and "Party B" instead of "bride" and "groom," at the West Hollywood City Hall.

Open to all: Unlike Massachusetts, the only other state to legalize gay marriage, California has no residency requirement for a license.

Some of the wedding photos in the video are mine and some were given to me by people that don't have a predicament to share or contribute their wedding photos as it is the best time of one's life, so you may want to share it with everyone else around the world.

Well - marriage worked for me! I was still a young nineteen year-old whereas my husband was a young (25) student in medicine and on a trip to Finland. I saw him first at a dancing ball, as we danced our last danced he invited me to England, and a year later after we talked many times and wrote many times, when I went for a visit he asked me to marry him... we married a year later, I moved to the UK and we are still married to this day... many said that it cannot last or be done because our culture was so different, and because I hardly spoke English and he hardly spoke Finnish. Many years later, little did everyone know that it would last that long!

I hope the double meaning you mentioned won't be taken wrongly, especially that I had no intention to hurt any feelings.

While I was going through the picture collection to create the video - I heard on the Radio about California, so it just happened by current events! I have no intentional murmur about gay couples getting married. But I wonder for how long this issue will be general news as other dreadful news are happening in warzones which American want to cover up with this one all over the news media.

Well - "marriage worked for me!"

Same with my parents, they really don't have a choice, my dad depends on my mom, she holds my dad's entire business in Dubai, without her he would totally be lost!! No, seriously they were made for each other, before they got married, my mom worked as a secretary where he was a construction manager and later on she became his business manager... they never get bored of each other although they see each other all day long!

So great for you all in this thread, it's as good for my parents as well, they own a farm and they are too busy making it work and too tired at the end of the day to squabble on petty things that would get them mad and separated, but not as well for me... I met some great when I was in college we had a baby girl and about six months later he couldn't handle fatherhood so he left me, but I'm doing fine now with someone else and I'm not getting married again!

"we had a baby girl and about six months later he couldn't handle fatherhood..."

Isn't that always the case? How long after your girl was born? In my case I dumped him because he wanted to circumcise my boy and I wouldn't let him do it, these actions are barbaric to my knowledge!!

Nice song and brilliant touch with the baby's giggle at the end!! So the same sex marriage is a given in the US now, but I've heard about legalising it a while ago in New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Vermont and then it was all annulled....

Oh... look who got married?

Mr Sulu from Star Trek and actor George Takei and his partner were among the first Californian couples to get a wedding licence after the state lifted its ban on same-sex marriage.

Congrats to the trekies, for whatever makes them happy, but will this last? Since among hedroisexoids, as long as you live without getting officially married things work out fine, but as soon as they get married things turn out to be a nightmare just as for everyone else on this old planetarium's laws of logic...

Sodom Gomorrah [Visitor]

I'm curious what you think about this link I found? It's about Sodom and Gomorrah. I know gays don't like to heat any about religion but I would like to know what you think about this??

It's based on factual evidence that they found! Not religion!

Sodom and Gomorrah Rediscovered

The story of Sodom and Gomorrah

The Bible indicates that there were more than just the two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah that were destroyed that day.

Sorry my point is clear, and I was about to point out that the bible existed and what is said in the bible is genuine, so why go against it?

Read the archaeological document for facts!!

I'm sure that anyone I personally know will not dispute that the bible did not exist....... but it's not God or even Jesus that wrote the bible.... because if there's a God, or a Jesus up there he and his son are probably racist and materialistic punks, because most of the black people and the poor people aren't under his protection!

Have you noticed DARFUR? Has God or his disciples ever been or looked over there to help out those miserable people as they are now?

As for the Gay marriages, I don't understand it, but be sure that politicians use that one as well for their own benefit to kiss up the Church goers on and off it all depends on their agenda and tactic of the day!!! Thus is our political frenzy to give people their make-believe to something that is so darn manipulated to a hundred percent!!

Soap opera fans fired up over tepid gay romance

Last Updated: Sunday, March 2, 2008 | 4:26 PM ET

CBC News

A romance between two men on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns has inspired a campaign by viewers demanding the show's producers allow the characters to kiss again.

Fans say they are bewildered as to why the fictional romance between Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer (played by actors Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann) hasn't culminated in an onscreen smooch since the two characters started their relationship last September, which marked that last time they kissed.

"As the World Turns" - I wouldn't know but yeah of course, that's show started since television began during the 50s?? So most of the 60s/70 and older watch it with their 50s mentality .... actually even people that age don't watch it any more, I never thought it still lived-on, all I heard about it was that some actress (with an Italian name) in that show never got a ''Global'' or ''People's award'' and she whined about it all over the media...

My mate and I are living in sin for six years since last spring, he was married before, his wife died in a car accident in 1998....

For me it would have been my first marriage. Mind you there are lot of expenses for a wedding we cannot afford although my parents want to contribute to the whole thing, but I thought if I get that money to lay down as a down payment to buy a house it would be much better instead to do the whole wedding thing just to please our parents, because the ceremony is actually for them not us... we had our private celebration!

And above all there's the religion issue, I'm a Christian and my sweet mate is Jewish, so who's going to convert to the other religion? Who? Certainly not me!!

Anywise we both do not believe in God and we don't want to offend any of our parents. A close friend of my mine suggested just a town hall wedding, and she wants to send me her wedding gown that would fit perfectly for me as well. She had several weddings with the same man and one of the weddings was at the town hall, and we might one day do that as well!!

Jerry proposed many times to elope at the town hall, but we thought we'll do it when the children will be a little older to actually understand the ceremony!

I love you video it well thought of! Long live Diana and her husband!!

You've got a response to all of the supportive utter to mentioned here - -- on my blog, please feel free to voice your opinion considering ART and how you feel when you try to create something and not what gave me so much grief and rejection filled with new and lovely ideas...

Now I have woken up and seen my unforgivable blunder and forever be still in the night of silence. As the days linger on, other nights may come along where I could feel a similar splendour in another song by another singer but certainly not like 'Nuit Blanche' because I do not want to stay up all night all over again to create an image to a song!

The lesson learnt is artists feed other artists, and when an artist fights it on one side, sadly it dies out…

Oh I almost forgot, your wedding photos are lovely and the video is fantastic with Tom Cruise baby's cry at the end... and as for the Gay marriage topic? - Not much of a comments, since it's their own business what people do in their own bedroom and the Church is a scam by all mean and we all know it .... yes, me, another Catholic born and none believer.

People stopped believing in God and everything that comes out of this fairy tale a long time ago!! Just think how idiotic is the Adam and Eve's story... I was a kid when I already thought that it made absolutely no sense at all!!

ELLE Macpherson's former fiance, Swiss millionaire financier Arpad "Arki" Busson, will marry Hollywood star Uma Thurman.

Arki, who has two young sons with the Australian supermodel, proposed to Thurman with an engagement ring featuring an eight-plus carat diamond and 20 smaller stones. Thurman's publicist Stephen Huvane said the couple had not yet set a wedding date.

The romance began at a private dinner in Milan a year ago. Thurman divorced actor Ethan Hawke in 2004. Thurman and Macpherson were reportedly friends until the Kill Bill star began dating Busson.
