Ayurveda: science of life and art of healing

by Diana @ 2008-09-07 - 22:24:30

A wonderful documentary to watch and think about the Art of being!!

Ayurveda - Art of Being

Pan Nalin's Documentary on Ayurveda, is enlightening us how the revitalized holistic discipline, based on the most ancient modus operandi works, which can be applied in this age of nuclear power, the internet and the pressing mode of life.

Ayurveda is science of life and art of healing; where body, mind and spirit are given equal importance. This voyage of thousands of miles across India and abroad takes you on a unique poetic journey, where we encounter remarkable men of medicine or simply a villager who lives in harmony with nature.

Hope is natures way of enabling us to survive so that we can discover nature itself and its on the tube!

I’ve seen those sights among our modern society, the tiny people rushing and hustling among the gigantic cement buildings and talking about the boosting Stock Market with pride, the more fat is sold the more they feel their achievement sending over nourishment and mass consumptions to the masses… so overwhelming - nevertheless be aware of phony alternative medicine as well, it might be another approach to the Stoke Market hype!!

People can choose to get out of the cities and live in a modest way cultivating a garden... partially that's what I did!!

Ayurveda sounds cool, but the transition could be very hard for those that aren't born in it, you cannot suddenly jump off the current life and become a health Guru only eating herbal plants and learn all the secrets... I envy those that are born into it from start to spread these ways of life... right?

It's never too late to change! When I was a kid I lived on a farm, when I went to college I lived in a hectic city and became just as anyone of the junk food junkies... as soon as I graduated I looked to live the slow pace and found another farm to live in and since I fell so much better... yes I have a cellular phone but I only use it twice a day because it's for my whereabouts on the farm not for chat!! I chat with friends live with people I meet in the evening...

Not only the high executive runs around robotic rats to keep up with the schedule and eats fast food off the truck he/she eats food that is handled with the same hands that handles money, the most dirty and bacterial contaminated piece of paper by all means of the word!!

interesting DianaV, from what i see, ayurveda is far from being hyped, british colonialists, way back, use to cut off the hands of native ayurveda healers to prevent them from taking care of their village/tribe...

Yes, that very same day - I talked about that with my husband and he said the same thing about cutting off hands! As physician, he certainly knows about every other medicinal substitute of healing in and around Britain... I'm sure delighted that I wasn't born within an imperialistic country, but in Finland, it keeps my little conscience clear... we've also a lot of natural healing methods by massaging the body from top to bottom...
